Harsh Realities: Navroz and Fatima

We Pakistanis entitle ourselves to be nationals of an Islamic State. But do we truly follow the teachings of Islam or even care to convey the basics for living a normal life to our children. Quran, a universal book of guidance which is the complete code of life, a Holy Book where you can find answers to every problem do we tell our children what Allah has commanded us to do and what He expects us to do? What are the obligations on us as a Muslims?  Do we really care to explain the Sunnah, difference between Haram and Halal to our children? I don’t think we Pakistanis are really keeping up with the titleof being Nabis Ummah. Why each time blame India and media when we are the ones to be accused, when we are the ones who have errors and when we are ones who are too busy in our lives to even impart the teachings to our youngsters about the morals and ethics. Besides always being unavailable to the children at the times while they need our attention the most and expect us to be most responsive in the issues concerning them,   we also have started to embrace this thinking that schooling is enough for a child to mug up the whole ball of wax, too much power of western culture. Too much of space even abandons you and too much of boundaries even are no less than a prison. Meanwhile in Germany, a girl fought hard enough for her rights and for separate identity as Muslim and to be allowed to wear a Hijab during school hours and our kids here in Pakistan are actually slaying each other just because their parents are not letting them marry each other. Oh well, let’s not forget to mention what’s their age, Navroz is 16, while the girl Fatima is 15. The guy stated in his letter which he wrote before attempting suiciding that he desired to marry the love of his life but his parents are not permitting him so he is going to kill her and shoot himself too so that if not in this world may be in afterlife they live together. Oh, I assume they were thinking that when we’ll die we’d be holding hands and angles will be taking us and we’d be flying in the skies. Well that’s not how it really happens. WOW! That may be inspired by some Indian movie, I think Ishqzaade but where were their parents? When he talked to them why didn’t they really take some action? What’s better losing your son and daughter forever or just teaching them few morals and telling them to fear Allah since this life is His gift to and one day by His will we’ll have to return? Didn’t they know what would happen when they’d suicide? Fault is not only in watching Indian movies, I think it’s our media too, which is giving exposure to the bogus traditions and culture which are no way a part of us. Nobody ever speaks for what is being shown in our movies, dramas, and adds? Everyone may criticize Veena , Meera, Mona Lisa for working in Indian Film Industry but no one would have courage to stand and speak that whats happening in our fashion shows? What sort of vulgar fashion is being promoted in our society? What about Mehwish Hayats Item song? What about Mathira? What about Ayesha Omar? For God’s sake when will this society really learn and speak against the evils?

The duty no matter what lies on the shoulders of parents and elders at home, it’s just not about good schooling, teachers or achieving straight A’s. Sometimes we really need to ponder where is our life going? What is that you have done and you don’t want to do it again? What is that you don’t want others to do and suffer? How would you teach your younger siblings? What changes do you need to bring in your daily routine? I don’t ask anyone to become a Mullah, since I am not but I do say that at least don’t do anything which is forbidden and surely has terrible consequences. Please learn about haram and halal. Such cases are like emergency calls for parents who need to turn back to their children and bring them on the track.

At the end I'd like to say that you may or may not agree with me, you may have different and better reasons, or however you feel, please pray for their departed souls I think that's the best we can do. And don't forget all those people who are struggling through much more hard consequences. Pray for everyone, you might be a help for someone. 

Quranic Verse 1: "Don't kill yourself. No doubt Allah (swt) is merciful and anyone who does so, will be pushed in fire. And it is easy for Allah (swt)." (Nisa: 4:29, 4:30)

Quranic Verse 2: "We are property of Allah (swt) and we will return to Allah (swt) one day." (Baqra 2:156)

Quranic Verse 3: "Don't' kill yourself with your own hands" (Baqra 2:195)

Hadith No.1: "Whoever kills himself with an iron weapon, he will be tortured in hell with the same weapon". (Bokhari)

Hadith No.2: "Whoever strangles himself with a rope, he will keep on strangling himself until being burnt in hell. And he who killed himself with a spear, he will keep on being killed by spear until he is sent to hell." (Bokhari)
